Rebecca Newby

Dr Rebecca Newby is Assistant Professor in English at Northeastern University London, where she teaches academic writing and world literature to 1500, as well as the Associate Director of Global Experience for the Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds BA and MA degrees from Cardiff University in English Literature and completed her AHRC-funded PhD in English and French medieval studies in 2020. This research project considered narrative closure in medieval romance poetry, with a focus on the unfinished works of Chrétien de Troyes and Geoffrey Chaucer. She has published articles in Arthurian Literature and The Chaucer Review, and recently acted as an Academic Advisor to Gale-Cengage for a new volume of ‘Short Story Criticism’ on the Canterbury Tales.
